Who are we? Recycling Unlimited is a registered charity established to assist in the treatment and care of persons, primarily but not exclusively residents in Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire, suffering from mental illness of any description and members of any disadvantaged or socially excluded group of the community, including people with disabilities and members of ethnic minorities, by the provision of facilities for work experience and vocational skills training. The work activities and training provided help recovery from mental health problems through learning new skills, feeling valued and supported as well as developing self-confidence. Recycling Unlimited constructs garden furniture from reclaimed timber and sells these along with other donated goods from its charity shop. The product range includes benches, bird tables, trellis, fencing, arbours, and other pieces of garden furniture as requested by customers. We
also deliver a wide range of training
projects, covering everything from basic personal skills to
a choice of other skills such as arts and crafts, basic joinery and carpentry,
retailing and office work, gardening and horticulture, painting, computing
skills and others. The training
programmes help candidates to reinforce their ‘Skills
for Life’ and re-gain their practical vocational skills,
strengthen their confidence and provide them with the appropriate transferable
skills to increase their chances of employment and help them to re-integrate
into society. |
